What does the plus and minus gear shift thingy do in a mitsubishi outlander?

does it make it faster or something, i wanna know.

  • That's probably a feature that allows you to shift the car like a manual trans. It won't make it faster than shifting automatically unless you are really good with a manual and know the shift points. Read More

Compared with the Subaru Forester, which also feels sporty, the driver's seat appears lower to the ground in the Forester, and the Subaru's four-cylinder engine certainly comes across as stronger than the standard four in the Outlander, but the Outlander has it beat with its V-6. For a few thousand dollars more, the Mazda CX-7 has seating for only five, but it's perceived as a more complete performance package, with very comfortable seating, sporty suspension tuning, and a rorty turbocharged engine. The Forester and CR-V remain the best for those who are safety-minded; they're both IIHS Top Safety Picks for 2008.
