i have a 90 lincoln town car with hesitation issues help?

i have replaced fuel pump and fuel filter timing chain distributor module coil pack spark plugs cap rotor when i try to drive it it hesitates and has got a miss it started off as small problem and now its real bad it jerks and hesitates a lot any ideas on what it might be... Read More

  • Assuming this is a 302,Make sure the timing is on 10 deg BTDC, and that the spout connector was pulled for the setting of the timing, also was the stator/pickup inside the dist replaced, fuel psi should be 35 to 40 psi, lower the exhaust pipes from the manifold about 1/2 inch to make sure the cats are not stopped up...   • I would guess its something with the distributor some how the timing has gotten off or did you notice the condition of each plug when you took it out was any of them showing signs of not firing. Last but not least what about the computer control module and I will assume you changed the spark plug wires if not do those. Read More
  • Remove the 02 sensors and try driving it, sounds like the cat converters are plugged, if the hesitation is gone, replace the cats and your motoring down the highway days will be smooth once again!
  • engine miss must be fixed first, if plugs/wires were changed, need to see which cylinder misses, check compression, if good, changed injector
