I parked a 2007 Jeep Patriot and it still was able to drift into another car and it wasn't on a hill.?

I definietly put the car in park before stepping out less then 2mins before I noticed it wasn't where I parked it. It was moving towards the other car.

  • Shifting from park to reverse wouldn't do anything... Reverse has a low enough gear that you could actually park it in reverse IN MANUAL only. Ebrake on Maual cars could be loose if used often and not be able to support the cars weight. adjustments needed
  • You parked on a hill and didn't use the parking brake? Sounds like a loose nut behind the wheel problem, not the car.
  • bring it back to the dealership or was it a stick shift and you left it in neutral with the ebrake not up>? Reference:My head
