Pros & Cons of having 22" rims.?

I have a brand new 2007 GMC Envoy and right now, I have the factory 18" rims on them. I was thinking about putting 22" rims on my SUV. Can anyone tell me what are the pros & cons of having them on my suv?

  • i got a 2003 envoy with 22's and it rides like it did with the factory wheels it handles better though. good wheel locks they can't steal them. no problems with any wheel bearing so dont know why they say that. Go for it.. Read More
  • cant really see any pros except for appearance, cons would be extra strain on your hub bearings, higher cost of tires, and higher risk of wheel damage
  • extremely bumpy ride, you cant have heavy loads in trunk, more chance of being stolen, are much easier to damage then 18" rims . pros are they look good
  • Terrible ride and yes the wheel bearings will go out, I have replace many of them on alot of vehicles and these are one piece sealed bearings that cost between $185.00 to $375.00 each. Reference:923
  • not to mention, it could put a bit more strain on the transmisson. sure, they look nice, but they dont look nice sitting on the side of the road.
