Heat knob on 2004 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited?

I have a 2004 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited. I turned off the heat yesterday and the knob came off and it's a pain to get back on. When I put it back on, it doesn't work effectively and I can't turn the heat on. Suggestions?
