How much should i be paying my mechanic for replacing lifters in a 2006 GMC Envoy Denali 8 Cyl. Parts & labor?

There is apparently an underlying problem why the lifter failed. Need to know that too. But the repair bill for a replacement lifter, seals, gaskets seems high. how much should the mechanic be charging for this repair.
