Can the 2007 Toyota tundra hitch handle 28 foot 11500pounds boat with a trailer?

Im thinking of getting a 07 Tundra. I was told this year model tundra is built very tough. Would it be able to tow from A to B within the city. To the ocean and back.

  • hitches have towing classes in relationship to weight desired to be pulled, e,g. class III 5000lbs....class 4, 7500. lbs. class 5, .10,000.lbs. most hitch installers only stock class III...you can get a weight distributing hitch for the tongue of boat trailer and automatically double the capacity of whichever hitch...   • You can find the towing capacity of your truck on line. I would bet that a bumper hitch wouldn't handle that much, but a good frame mounted hitch would. If you have mountains to go through on your way to the coast, your Tundra should have a V8. I don't think a 6 would have enough grunt for the hills.
  • Need to check what type of hitch you have also I would recommend to install overloads on the back my daughter's boyfriend has a Tundra and he uses my 27' travel trailer (7,500) and it squats the rear down allot
