What is the Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren's fuel economy at full speed?

The MB SLR McLaren empties its 21gal tank in 19min when driven at 208 mph. What is its mpg at that rate? Does anyone know how to calculate this?

  • 21 gals / 19 mins = 1.1 gals used per minute 208mph / 60 seconds = 3.47 miles per minute 3.47 gallons / 1.1 gals used = 3.15 miles per gallon Someone check my math. Read More
  • If you're buying a car like that fuel economy is the last thing you worry about. If you're worried about fuel economy then don't buy a car like that. Nuff Said!
  • convert 208mph to miles per minute. multiply by 19 to get how many miles he traveled. divide that by 21 to get mpg
  • In 19 minutes at 208 MPH you would travel 65.86 miles To use 21 gallons to cover that distance would equate to 3.14 MPG

Other Choices:

The 2008 Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren's ungodly performance is matched by few cars. Lamborghini's V-12-powered Murcielago comes close and offers all-wheel drive to boot. The Porsche 911 Turbo can also be ordered in a roadster form, while the new Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 promises to be the fastest, most expensive Corvette ever when it goes on sale next year.
