How much HP gain w/ cold air intake in 2006 Tiburon?

Stock horsepower is about 172 @ 6000. If i put a simple $100 cold air intake on it would i see anything above a 5hp increase? The car is light, so even small bumps in HP can be felt

  • Do you really need 5hp or even 10hp??! Your car is relatively new and should be still under warranty. Think twice before you make any change that might void your warranty. I have a 07 Sonata SE and love it as is.
  • it should get at least 5 hp or more maybe 7hp since its a cold air intake. if you combine it with a high airflow exhaust it will be even better.
  • As long as you dont buy a cheap eBay CAI, you should be fine. Some recommended brands are: INJEN, AEM, FUJITA If you buy one of those CAIs, then you will get about 7-10 HP and those filters are cleanable/reusable. Reference:own a 2004 Tiburon GT V6.
