1991 Chevrolet Cavalier Problems?

The car runs great it has 82,000 miles. However, when I start slowing down to come to a stop it dies. It will crank back but when I put it in drive it dies again. If I crank it and leave it in park it will idle forever.Any ideas?

  • Does this happen after you have driven the car for a while? If so then the torque converter solenoid may be at fault. What usually happens is that the solenoid fails and does not allow the converter clutch to disengage.
