why does my 2007 Honda Accord 4 cylinder get bad gas mileage?

I have a 2007 Accord sedan, 4 cylinder. I am suppose to get 21 city, 31 highway. I have a 17.1 gallon tank. I believe I am filling up every 6 days and get less than 300 miles per tank. I got rid of my Jeep so I can save on gas but now I feel like this isn't THAT much... Read More

  • Obvious answer but have you checked your tire pressures, 10% under-inflated tires will decrease your fuel efficiency by 10%. Apart from this check your air filters, plugs and wires. And you could always lighten up on the gas pedal, fast starts and high cruising speed kill your mpg
