i want to get more power to enter drag races and what Else so help me thank very much

  • I personally think your search will be fruitless. BMW have lots of power but, the M5 E60 engine is high-compression naturally aspirated and not designed to be drag-raced. Have you explored all of your launch-control options? I know that options exist to optimize launch speed. Plus, the cost is free. I guess you could... Read More
  • TT set up [or like 12 cyl/12 ITB set up from a Jag or something], megasquirt, bored/ported cylinders, new internals [with a stronger type of metal so they can handle more heat], test with different exhaust set ups that work best for your engine. • For the best information on a reliable way to get horsepower from a BMW, including the E60 M5, contact Dinan Engineering at www.dinancars.com
  • go to www.bimmerforums.com and search, also try active autowerks for blown and twin screw superchargers
  • put a BIG chevy engine in it with nitrous and/ or a supercharger It will be hard to make that kind of power reliably in a bmw engine

Other Choices:

Few mid-size luxury sedans can touch the BMW M5's performance, but the Mercedes-Benz E63 AMG comes closest--and looks a bit more suave going about it, too. The newly minted Jaguar XF Supercharged is a few ticks slower, but it's far more handsome; a 500-horsepower XF-R is due in 2009. The Audi S6 has a massively powerful V-8, but it's still a step slower than the BMW.
