does a 1998 Subaru roll back when stopped on a hill?

  • The only thing to speed any vehicle from rolling back (in a manual trans) is the driver. If you dont drive it right of course itll roll back just like the ranger
  • keep good distance btwn you and other cars, you can use the hand brake , but the 1st gear, release the clutch , hand brake down
  • There is no hill holder feature on your Forester. Subaru did not put them on them, as not enough room.
  • Subarus do have a hill holder clutch system. Read your owner's manual to understand how it works.
