I have a Pontiac Montana and it over heated on me. Thinking thermostat. How do i fix that in my vehicle?

My dad said there could be other things, like the transmission cooling line. Something about the radiator or head gasket. But can you help me fix it myself please? I'm a girl, 30, and usually do well with directions. Thank you.

  • 1st thing to check is the anti freeze level. If it's low the engine will ouer heat. The most comond over heating problem with Pontiac is the upper intake maniold gasket will leak. Most of the time you will not see any anti freeze on the engine or the ground. If this is the case in will have to go to the shop. Read More
