I ran my 2003 SAAB 9-3 out of gas.?

I put 4 gallons of gas into the tank but it will not start. Everything seems to be working normally, it just won't start? any ideas.

  • It can take quite awhile for the fuel pressure to rise high enough to start the engine. How long did you take in cranking the engine?   • You may have overheated your fuel pump. The fuel pump is an electric motor in the tank that sends fuel up to the engine. The fuel that it pumps works to cool the motor, and when fuel level drops to empty, the pump continues to run with no fuel resulting in overheating and ruining the pump.
