how do i program my new ignition key for my 2000 pontiac bonnevile?

i ordered a new key with the chip in it for my 2000 pontiac bonneville and received no instructions on how to program to work please help

  • Try this: 1) Place alread programmed key into ignition. Cycle ignition from OFF - ON(RUN) - OFF. 2) Within 15 seconds, insert the new transponder key in the ignition. 3) Turn the key to ON(RUN) or START. 4) The theft "Security" light will go on then off.
