Belt squeal on 2006 Hyundai Sonata?

My 2006 Sonata V6 has a belt squeal during idle. If I turn on the A/C, it becomes even louder. Belt looks tight, noticed some oil on the engine next to the belt. Car has 51,000 miles. Is this going to be covered under Hyundai warranty?

  • The oil would contribute to the belt slipping - big time. The belt needs to be cleaned along with the pulleys. • it might but you will have to bring it to the dealer ship, but it just sounds like the belt tensioner isn't doing its job.
  • leaky oil cause the belt to slip, take it back to stealership.
  • No, this is maintenance. Buy a new belt and put it on.
