2002 Chrysler Voyager w/ 2.4 L-3 speed trans. I see a sensor w/ 3 wires which were eaten. What is the sensor?

Actually, the only thing I noticed is the check engine light is on. Because the 4 cyl. engine allows me to look deeper into the compartment, I can see the sensor on the drivers side directly ontop of the tranni. Hope this helps. Thanks

  • I also think it sounds like the vehicle speed sensor. The 3-speed automatics used a single vehicle speed sensor that was mounted on the right (passenger side) output shaft extension on the transmission.   • Can't answer this question without knowing where in the engine compartment the sensor is located, like to the left of the distributor in rear next to firewall. write back will try and help, what on your car is not working or is not preforming correctly?
  • That is the speed sensor,tells the computer how fast the engine is turning for timing and runs the speedometer.
  • Who cares ! Simply have some one solder the wires back together and insulate them. And do something about the rodent problem. Reference:Chrysler tech. Ret.
