  • you are right, hes talking about how thick the brake pads are. subaru pads are fine. autozone also carries them and may even be a few bucks cheaper. the dealer should have told you the condition of the rotors. getting them machined all depends on the way you drive, if you can see deep groves in them then get it done.   • I just replaced the ones on my Baja and I used the Subaru pads. When you buy them from Subaru, they come with new shims, new clips, and caliper grease to keep them from squeaking.
