why 2007 subaru forester 2.5 xt requires 95 ron unleaded fuel while 2009 model w/same specs. go for 92 ron?

subaru forester 2.5xt burns only 95 (ron) octane unleaded fuel while new 2009 with same specifications (engine, etc) now only requires 92 (ron) octane. Why is that so? What's the difference that came about the octane of fuel?

  • You will find that the computer module for running the engine is the difference ..from memory you can take you car back to subaru and they can change the setting with a hand held diagnostic tuneing set..i have used this same device to alter the fuel select mode on holden barinas Read More
