i'm thinking of buying a subaru legacy wagon with 181K miles...?

i've heard subarus can go up to 300,000 miles, and they're only asking 1500. i'm going to call him and ask if the car's been taken to a mechanic for a tuneup/buyer's check...i guess i'm looking for confirmation that this is a smart enough thing to do. thanks.

  • Subarus can go well over 300k miles if well taken care of. If the previous owner has kept up the maintenance, if the timing belt has been changed at the proper interval, and if the car runs good, I see no reason you cannot get another 150k or more out of the car.
