why does my 05 subaru baja turbo smell like gas when it is below 30 and the car is cold.?

  • the reason you smell gas is because the engine is cold and it is injecting extra gas into the cylinders to help it warm up faster. it does this so the computer will come online quicker. if you notice your car is idling at a higher rpm when this is happening. Reference:ase certified
  • yes cold start up you might want to check the fuel lines under intake were the rubber line goes on the metel line they might need to be replaced NOT TIGHTEN when you first start the car look to see if line are wet good luck Reference:subaru tech for 21 years
