    AUX input

It's not useless! You do need to get your own plug, though. Fortunately, I had a plug that came with an iHome 2Go radio I purchased for my iPod - it is just a short cord with headphone jacks on either end - you can use it to connect the iPod to the AUX input that is in the center console - that's definitely what that is! I'm sure you can find a cheap cord at RadioShack or another such store.

    AUX input

Select CD on your radio display, from there you get two options - CD or AUX input - select AUX and start rocking to your favorite tunes. Both my XM Roadie and Ipod work with the AUX input.
