2003 Subaru Forester Air Bag Light On?

I own a 2003 subaru forester. Everything seems fine with it, no problems, except that the air bag light is continuously on. Any possible reasons for this? Can I fix it? or do I need to take it to a dealer? Under warranty?

  • Dealer only. You should have a 6 year/ 100,000 mile warranty on it. If not, and if they want to charge you, call the 800 number in the owners manual and speak to the Subaru Consumer Hot line in Cherry Hill, NJ. They will authorize a special consideration for you. • I would highly recommend you take it to a dealer or a qualified technician. You do not wish to run the risk of having the airbag go off by accident. It is a much more costly fix if that happens.
  • it means air bag not working..usually bad connection/bad sensor...i would not mess with it...dealer.

    Wire Harness

Check under the driver side seat and make sure the wire harness is tight under there (just sort of push them together). See if this fixes it. It happened to mine, and it seems that there is a lot of people with the same problem. Especially the 03's.
