I have a 1998 chrysler cirrus that will not start.?

I replaced the timing belt, so I double checked the timing marks and they are dead on (checked after cranking the engine numerous times). It has spark and fuel, but it sounds like engine timing. I do not believe in coincidences, so what gives with the timing?

  • well if ur positive timing is correct, if the timing belt broke as to the reason ur replacing it, an interference engine will cause damage, and won't start, pull valve cover and spark plugs see if you see down to the piston, any marks from valve contact is going to be damage... Read More
  • They are very common to have Distributor Failures. Very hard to diag. unless You have an oscilloscope to analyze the signals coming out. After you try everything and the Kitchen sink try that. It's the whole Distributor not just the cap. Even if you have spark. The cam sensor is built into it.
  • Blake is right about the timing belt, but if it wasn't broken, check the MAP sensor, I had a couple chryslers that had that problem, and ran horribly until it was replaced.
