I bought a used 2001 Hyundai Santa Fe that has engine noise. I think it's loud, but the dealer calls it, "?

"slight lifter noise, common among Hyundais". Obviously he doesn't want to fix it and the warranty mileage is about to max out. Is this common among Hyundais or is guy blowing smoke?

  • I would cause a huge stink and make them fix it. Your slight lifter noise might turn into you having to rebuild the cylinder head. I work for a dealership, if you complain enough and keep going to someone higher than the last person who said no you will eventually get a yes.
