CX-7
New for 2006, the CX-7 is a new crossover sport-utility vehicle that's based on the MX-Crossport concept car, which toured the auto-show circuit in 2005. It will go on sale in early-to-mid 2006. Though few details were available as of this writing, based on the concept upon which it's based, the CX-7 will be a curvaceous five-passenger SUV that borrows styling cues from the RX-8 sports coupe. It comes with a lower ride height for easy entry and exit and offers a roomy interior. No word yet on which powertrain the vehicle will carry, but a 3.0-liter V-6 engine, coupled with a five-speed automatic transmission is not out of the question, with front- and all-wheel-drive versions likely.
