To make its debut in early 2006 as a 2007 model, the Q7 will be Audi's first bona fide sport-utility vehicle, and will be positioned in price and stature between the A6 and A8; hence the "7" nomenclature (the "Q" indicates that it is a new vehicle type for Audi). This will be a spacious four-door, seven-passenger vehicle, and will offer a choice of V-6 and V-8 engines, a variable-height adaptive air suspension, and the manufacturer's sure-footed quattro all-wheel-drive system, along with Audi's now-trademark trapezoidal front-grille design.
