The Hyundai Entourage has been fairly quiet in the marketplace, somewhat overshadowed by its senior sibling, the Kia Sedona. For 2008, Hyundai is adding more equipment to its Entourage to increase its appeal for families on the go.
The Entourage's basics are largely unchanged, including a 250-hp 3.8-liter V-6 engine, a five-speed automatic transmission, front and side curtain airbags, and stability control.
All Entourage minivans offer up three rows of seats; the third-row, 60/40 split, flip-fold Hideaway seat is standard and the Entourage seats seven in all. Hyundai says the Entourage offers up more interior space than the Honda Odyssey, while it also delivers five-star performance in the NHTSA's front and side crash tests.
The Entourage lineup starts with a GLS model for 2008 with two available packages. The former SE model has been deleted, replaced by a Popular Equipment package that includes goodies like power sliding side doors and a power driver seat, as well as backup warning sensors and steering wheel audio controls. A new Premium package gets a rear-seat DVD entertainment system and an eight-inch monitor. The Limited version adds on an Infinity surround-sound audio system to go with its leather seating. Bluetooth is a new option for 2008.
