New for 2007, the mid-size, five-passenger MKX crossover replaces the Aviator in Lincoln 's lineup. Unlike the truck-based Aviator SUV, the MKX is similar in overall theme, looks and function to competitors such as the Lexus RX350 and Acura MDX. That means it's a suburban cruiser, not an off-road luxury bruiser. It comes with a 3.5-liter, 265-horsepower V-6 engine and six-speed automatic transmission instead of a V-8 engine and truck-style four-wheel-drive with Low range. Front-wheel drive is standard, with all-wheel drive available optionally. Standout features include a full-length Vista sunroof, adaptive projector-beam headlights that pivot as the MKX turns, heated and cooled front seats, heated rear seats, a 14-speaker 600-watt THX audio system with surround sound, and a DVD-based GPS navigation system. Standard safety features include anti-lock brakes, traction and stability control, and side and curtain airbags.

  1. Lincoln MKX Overview

I have always had a thing about Lincolns-they are for old people. When my Jag lease was up my husband wanted me to look at the MKX. After the test drive, I was sold. The huge sunroof is wonderful, the interior (with the blonde wood) looks like it is made with female tastes in mind. It drives beautifully, although the turning radius could be a little tighter. Over all, it is a great vehicle and I plan to get another one.
