Celebutante gets 36 months probation for drinking and driving.
Paris Hilton |
After a short time wending her way throughCalifornia traffic courts, multifaceted media creation Paris Hilton can rest easy tonight, knowing she'll be able to drive around with gal pals Lindsay Lohan and Britney Spears when schedules permit.
Hilton, 25, was given 36 months probation and was fined for alcohol-related reckless driving related to an incident on Sept. 7 in which she wove around on West Hollywood streets. Hilton had been charged with driving under the influence; the plea deal reduced the charge, and could reduce her probation to 24 months if she completes 40 hours of community service.
Hilton's blood alcohol level checked in at 0.08 percent in a field sobriety test, just past the legal intoxication limit in California. Her excuse for weaving was that she was trying to get to an In-N-Out burger, and had drunk only one margarita during a long day filming a music video.
Hilton must also stay out of trouble with alcohol and driving for the term of her probation and must submit to any field sobriety test ordered by police.
