The Silver Seraph features a smooth, 322-hp, 5.4-liter V-12 engine supplied by BMW, a five-speed automatic transmission, and an elegant, hand-built interior. Silver Seraph also has rack-and-pinion steering and unit-body construction rather than the body-on-frame construction of past models. Silver Seraph has an emphasis on comfort, ride, and quiet, and it certainly delivers in all of these areas. Anti-lock brakes, traction control, automatic ride control, an automatic headlamp system, power folding door mirrors, electrochromic glass, and a parking aid system are all standard. The even pricier, special-appearance Park Ward model will be made in a limited volume of 200.
Corniche
The Rolls-Royce Corniche convertible is all-new for 2001. It's a heavy, soft-top convertible that has a 325-hp, 6.75-liter V-8 engine and four-speed automatic transmission. Lambswool rugs, Connolly leather seating, wood trim, and Wilton carpets add to the feeling of luxury. Traction control, automatic ride control, and anti-lock brakes are standard. The Corniche shares its engine with Bentley cars, although it's not turbocharged as in the Bentleys. BMW will retain control over Rolls-Royce and rebuild it as a premium brand in the next several years.
