Avalon
An all-new 2000 Avalon will be introduced later this fall. We'll publish details as soon as we get them.
4Runner
Minor enhancements will usher the 4Runner into the new millennium. They include daytime running lamps on models equipped with ABS and optional color-keyed fender flares on SR5 models. The 4Runner can be equipped with a 2.7-liter 150-horsepower four-cylinder or a 3.5-liter 183-horsepower V-6. Either engine can be mated to a manual or an automatic transmission.
Camry
Toyota's best seller gets a minor refreshing for the 2000 model-year. The acclaimed midsize sedan gets new front and rear treatments on the outside, while it also receives a number of interior enhancements such as the addition of an available JBL audio system. Its 2.2-liter four-cylinder makes three more horsepower for a total of 136, while the 200-horsepower output of the 3.0-liter V-6 remains unchanged. Either engine can be paired with a manual or an automatic transmission.
Camry Solara
Introduced last year, Toyota's Camry coupe remains essentially unchanged for 2000, with a few exceptions. They include an available JBL audio system and a new climate-control panel on SE models. Solaras come with a 135-horsepower 2.2-liter four-cylinder or a 200-horsepower 3.0-liter V-6, with either a manual or an automatic transmission.
Corolla
One of America's finer automotive appliances, the Corolla is mostly carryover for 2000. However, its 1.8-liter four-cylinder engine ponies up five more horses for a grand total of 125.
Celica
Toyota's sporty coupe is all-new for 2000. It's intended to get back to the Celica's roots as an affordable boy racer. Aggressive styling coupled with a 180-horsepower 1.8-liter four-cylinder lends validity to that claim. Base models have a 140-horsepower version of the same engine.
ECHO
Toyota's car for baby boomers' kids is new to the market in 2000. It comes in four- and two-door body styles and crams the interior volume of a Corolla into a car with much smaller exterior dimensions. Power comes from an all-new 1.5-liter four-cylinder that produces 108 horsepower.
Land Cruiser
The land-crushing Land Cruiser gets a new vehicle-skid and traction-control system and additional standard equipment for 2000. It continues to be powered by a 230-horsepower 4.7-liter V-8 engine.
RAV4
This mini-SUV is mostly the same as it was for 1999. The only change is a redesigned cupholder on all models. RAV4s are available in two- and four-door models, with a 2.0-liter 120-horsepower four-cylinder engine.
Sienna
Toyota's minivan is unchanged for 2000 except for an updated audio system. A 194-horsepower 3.0-liter V-6 engine powers it.
Tacoma
This compact pickup is unchanged for 2000 except for minor trim and specification changes. The Tacoma is available in a multitude of body styles with two- and four-wheel drivetrains and a 150-horsepower 2.7-liter four-cylinder or a 190-horsepower V-6 under the hood.
Tundra
Hoping to grab a piece of the full-size pickup market, this truck is all-new this year. It's armed with a smooth 245-horsepower 4.7-liter V-8 or a 3.4-liter 190-horsepower V-6 and is available in a variety of body configurations with four- and two-wheel drivetrains.
