Esteem Suzuki's often overlooked subcompact sedans and wagons were updated for 1999 and continue with a few minor changes into 2000. GLX and GLX+ models have new 15-inch wheels, while the 1.8-liter 122-horsepower engine is available across the model range. A 1.6-liter 95-horsepower four is standard.
Grand Vitara Suzuki's V-6 powered mini-utility was all-new for 1999. A few minor trim and color changes have been made for 2000. A Limited Edition model with an armrest, leather seat upholstery, and fog lamps is new to the lineup this year. Under the hood is the same 2.5-liter 155-horsepower V-6 as last year. It can be paired with either a five-speed manual or a four-speed automatic transmission.

Vitara Essentially the same vehicle as the Grand Vitara, but it has a four-cylinder engine in place of the Grand Vitara's V-6. The Vitara is available in two-door soft-top and four-door forms, as it was last year. The Vitara is also nearly identical to the Chevrolet Tracker, built alongside it in Ingersoll, Ontario. The two-door can be equipped with a 95-horsepower 1.6-liter four, while a 127-horsepower 2.0-liter four is optional in the two-door and standard in the four-door.
