Bonneville

Due for a major changeover in autumn 1999, the Bonneville is Pontiac's flagship sedan. The next generation of the sporty four-door will feature a wide range of new technological advances, but the powertrain on the 2000 model will remain the same, a base 3.8-liter V-6 at 205 hp or an optional 3.8-liter supercharged V-6 at 240 hp.

Firebird

The classic American muscle car. Like its near-twin, the Chevrolet Camaro, Firebird sales have been slipping in recent years, and there's a strong chance the sporty coupe will be dropped within the next year or two. The base model features a 3.8-liter 200-hp V-6, or it can be ordered with a 5.7-liter V-8 rated at 305 hp.

Grand Am

Recently restyled, the Grand Am is an affordable compact sedan aimed at those who want a little more flair in their styling than similar products offered by other GM divisions. Grand Am features an array of powertrains: a 2.4-liter in-line four at 150 hp, a 3.4-liter V-6 at 170 hp, or the 3.4-liter "ram air" V-6 at 175 hp.

Grand Prix

Pontiac's midsize mainstay is one of the sportiest sedans in the General Motors lineup. Restyled last year, it features a widened track for enhanced handling. Offered with a trio of powertrains, including a 3.1-liter V-6 at 160 hp, a 3.8-liter V-6 at 200 hp, or the 3.8-liter supercharged V-6 at 240 hp.

Montana

The renamed Pontiac Trans Sport minivan. Minivan sales have been flatting out as many customers switch to trendier SUVs. The Montana's cladding is designed to make it look more macho and sport-ute-like than similar GM minivan models. Offered with a 3.4-liter 185-hp V-6.

Sunfire

The base model in the Pontiac lineup. Designed for entry-level buyers who want a little flair. Offered with either a 2.2-liter in-line four at 115-hp or an optional 2.4-liter 150-hp in-line four.

Trans Am

This is the high-performance version of the Firebird. Visually distinguished by sportier cladding and spoiler, and enhanced with a race-tuned suspension. Base engine is the 5.7-liter 305-hp V-8, though an upgrade to 320 hp is available with the WS6 package.
