Honda says the latest rendition of the long-lived S2000 roadster will be a "club-racer-inspired" version due at theNew York auto show.

Honda promises the new edition will take the two-seater's performance to "an entirely new level." The new edition will be dubbed the S2000 CR and will be a trim level on the 2008 models of the S2000.

The S2000 has been on the market since 1999. The roadster has a 237-hp four-cylinder, coupled to a six-speed manual gearbox, stability control, drive-by-wire throttle, and an engine start button.
