One of the most eagerly awaited new cars of the year, the reborn Fiat 500, is to wear the legendary Abarth badge. As previously reported on TheCarConnection, Fiat is relaunching its historic performance brand on the Grande Punto compact hatchback. The hot version of the 500 is expected to make its debut before the end of the year, probably at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September. However, insiders say there's a chance it may be delayed until the Tokyo exhibition the following month.
Fiat's new product at the Geneva show was the Bravo, and to signal its importance the whole of the company's press day stand was devoted to the car. It will be available in Dynamic, Emotion and Sport trim levels, equipped with the 120 and 150-hp 1.9 Multijet diesel engine or a 150-hp 1.4 T-JET gasoline unit.
