Hyundai is fine-tuning its Azera sedan lineup by adding a new model with a smaller V-6 engine and a lower base price.
The new Azera GLS model comes with a 234-horsepower, 3.3-liter V-6, instead of the rorty 3.8-liter V-6 installed in the Azera SE and Azera Limited. Coupled to the same five-speed automatic as found with those engines, the GLS edition gets 21 miles per gallon in the EPA city cycle, and 28 mph in the highway cycle.
The new GLS model wears a base price of $24,895, some $1300 less than the mid-line SE model. Standard features include a CD/XM audio system, eight airbags, and stability control. A sunroof is optional.
Other additions to the Azera lineup for 2007 include 17-inch wheels on SE models, optional leather on SEs, a new 605-watt Infinity sound system for Limited editions, and standard tire pressure monitors on all Azeras.
